I feel that certain binaries create tension, such as external/internal, attraction/repulsion
and sterility/comfort. By abstracting visual language from Western medical
history, I am drawing attention to objects which are used to replace parts
of the body. In revealing what is rarely seen or accepted, the wearable pieces
are used to show us more about ourselves. Jewellery has an inherent link
to the body, where I agree, “one can become one with one’s ornament.”
